Urbn Timber works with local arborists to ecologically source our walnut logs, all of which have dropped due to sustainable causes. The logs are brought to our lumber yard, where they are sawn into live edge wood slabs. Then, the walnut slabs are air-dried for at least six months (depending on size), and kiln-dried for another two months. Each walnut wood slab is dried to a single-digit moisture content, ensuring stability, before it is fresh-cut to the artist’s design. Finally, the piece is ready to be handed off and turned into the final product.
